Health Minister Dr Kalumbi Shangula said there are no Covid19 cases in Namibia.
There were 9 suspected cases of which 8 turned out negative whereas 1 needs to arrive from Ondjokwe to Namibia Institute of Pathology (NIP).
Two suspected cases were in Rehoboth, two from Luderitz and four from Windhoek
Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Country Director, Eric Dziuban, said it’s important to call the virus COVID-19 because there are different types of coronavirus.
Dziuban said COVID-19 is detrimental only to older people and not younger as widely reported.
Executive Director Ben Nangombe said the Health Minister Dr Kalumbi Shangula’s office has become a situation room for the COVID-19 situation.
