Minister of Environment and Tourism Indileni Daniel says hunting permits cannot be used to export horns or trophies.
Daniel stated that such an export is not permitted without the ministry’s prior written approval.
The declaration comes as the ministry formally launches the 2025 hunting season with a slew of rules aimed at promoting sustainable and controlled hunting activities.
With Cabinet approval, the ministry has confirmed that the hunting season for huntable game species will commence on 1 May 2025 and end on 31 August 2025.
This applies to commercial farms of not less than 1,000 hectares, enclosed with registered game-proof fences, and registered conservancies with approved quotas.
