The Namibia Qualifications Authority (NQA) has announced that it will begin charging fees for the evaluation of foreign qualifications starting January 2, 2025.

This new fee structure, according to the NQA, is aimed at streamlining the evaluation process and supporting the digitisation of its services.

NQA’s Marketing and Corporate Communications Officer, Lina Ndengu explained that the fees are necessary to ensure sustainability and to modernise the authority’s services.

She highlighted the extensive work involved in evaluating foreign qualifications, which includes contacting international institutions and handling logistical requirements such as emails, phone calls, and video conferences.

She clarified that while the fees apply only to foreign qualifications, evaluations of local qualifications will continue to be provided free of charge.

“We have looked at international practices and the fees we are charging are minimal in comparison,” she said.
