Namibia Breweries Limited (NBL) has invested N$337 million in a new wine packaging line and has expanded its warehouse and other packaging equipment.
This initiative will allow NBL to domesticate the packaging of popular beverages such as Castelo, Hunters, and Savanna for the first time.
The new facility was officially inaugurated this week by President Nangolo Mbumba in Windhoek, with the Minister of Trade and Industrialisation, Lucia Ipumbu, in attendance.
NBL aims to expand its production capacity and diversify its brand portfolio by allocating an additional N$44 million to enhance its existing packaging lines.
Additionally, the brewery has extended its warehouse by 4,400 square metres, representing an investment of N$56 million.
Speaking at the event, NBL Managing Director Peter Simons explained that with the new equipment, NBL can now package Tassenberg, Castelo, and Granada locally, as well as Savanna and Hunters.
