Namibia urgently needs to revitalise its agricultural production systems and address the looming challenges posed by climate change and uncertainty.

Agriculture continues to serve as the cornerstone for sustained economic growth, promising to provide quality livelihoods and elevate living standards for the population.

Despite its paramount importance, the allocated budget of N$1.9 billion to the Agriculture, Land Reform, and Water Ministry falls short of meeting the sector’s diverse needs.

While efforts such as dedicating N$50 million for land purchase and N$87 million for improving animal health and marketing in communal areas are commendable, more substantial investments are imperative.
