A noteworthy article in the Norwegian media published last month caught my attention as the country’s Minister of Agriculture undertook a review of African Meat quotas in their market.

The Norwegian General System of Preference (GSP) scheme offers exporters from developing nations like Namibia and Botswana duty relief when exporting goods to the European Union (EU), particularly beef in this context.

Currently, Namibia and Botswana benefit from preferential market access for beef in Norway through annual quotas under the Generalised System of Preferences, amounting to 2,700 tonnes.
