1. President Nandi-Ndaitwah Champions Women’s Health. In a landmark announcement during World Health Day commemoration, she confirmed that Namibia will begin a nationwide rollout of the Human Papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine in July 2025.
2. At the 2025 Cirrus Investor Conference, Bank of Namibia Governor Johannes !Gawaxab emphasized the central bank’s focus on building a resilient, inclusive, and future-ready financial system. He acknowledged a slowdown in economic growth to 3.7% in 2024, citing challenges in the diamond and crop sectors — but forecasted a recovery to 4.0% in 2025.
3. The Namibia Grape Company (NGC) has contributed a N$10 million dividend to the National Youth Service (NYS). Chairperson Richwell Lukonga made the announcement today, underscoring NGC’s dedication to job creation, local procurement, and national development.
4. The Ministry of Justice and Labour Relations has launched investigations into alleged labour law violations at Hotel De Duine in Henties Bay and the Swakopmund Abattoir.
