1. Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Marine Resources, Ruth Masake, outlined a sustainability-driven vision for Namibia’s fishing industry during her keynote address at the Annual Fishing Industry. Masake reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to transforming Namibia’s marine resources into tangible socio-economic gains, particularly for the country’s youth and vulnerable populations.

3. Namibia’s Ultimate Safaris has completed its third consecutive international guide exchange, investing over N$300,000 into the initiative since its inception. This year, Jason Nengola, named Ultimate Safaris’ 2024 Ultimate Guide of the Year, embarked on a three-week conservation and cultural immersion in Baja California, Mexico, hosted by Todos Santos Eco Adventures.

In his address, Mukwe Constituency Councillor Damian Maghambayi highlighted the importance of collaboration between the private sector and the government to address the region’s pressing socio-economic challenges.

7. Urban and Rural Development Minister James Sankwasa has condemned the rising trend of tribal disputes being settled through legal courts. Sankwasa expressed his disappointment over the increasing use of courts to resolve chairmanship succession issues within tribes.
